support person needed in morganton nc

I hope you can find someone that can be there for you. Do you have a friend that would be willing to help or someone you trust at church? The reason I ask I also have struggled with the support person part. The reason being is my father is a truck driver. I live in his house and pay all of the household expenses. My brother and sister n law are not supportive of the surgery and have a lot of doubts that the surgery will work.
I was supposed to go to the education appointment with a friend in October. I found out the day before the appointment that she would have to go to all of the appointments and be there on my day of surgery. I felt like this was a big commitment and she would have to sign health care power of attorney papers. Now I was okay with her signing the health care power of attorney papers but I felt guilty about having her miss work.
It worked out beautiful that my dad was able to go with me for the November education appointment and I didn't have to miss work. I am ready to meet the surgeon. My appointment was set for Monday but my dad will not be home in time. So now I am waiting to reschedule.
Good luck and hope you can find a family member or friend that can go with you for all the appointments and be there the day of surgery. It does have to be the same person from beginning to end.

thank you so much for replying. o i dont have family or friend who can be there for me, and my son who is 14 is too young. i have two friends from boone where i used to live but one is a religious fanatic who does not believe in doctors or medicine the other is unreliable. i have asked my therapist and a woman i used to go to church ith and they are thinking it over. one person already turned me down said power of attorney was too much responsibility for them.
