need prayer that i can get the surgery
William, I agree with Grammy. Get a list of the drs. that ARE in network and start to fan out in your research of them. I originally intended to go with Mission Hospital in Asheville because it is local, but they were not in-network. I researched the next closest that was in-network, which was a little over an hour away. I am so thankful I ended up having to go with them...I've had the best experience! It's definitely been worth the extra drive and it really doesn't add up to much in the entire scheme of things. The biggest long-term deal is that I love their particular support groups so I do make that extra drive each month for them, but we also have local support that I can take advantage of as well. I hope so much that you are able to get the surgery soon if that is what you want. I am optimistic about my future for the first time in years, so I understand where you are coming from. Please keep us posted on your progress as you pursue it. Wishing you the very best of luck!
William,
what part of NC is Freemont in?
As gammylew said check out all possibiltys.
wls surgery for my has been a blessing and I could go on and on about how wonderful it hasd been for me but having wls and going through all the pre testing getting insurance approval can sometimes be a long road but it can happen.
My advice it be proactive stay on top of it.
Wishing you much good luck on your journey.

William im not sure where you are but I decided to go to Atlanta for my surgery. I found a doctor there in my network and was so pleased with his work. I had opted for the best in Atlanta that did my wifes surgery but he was out of network and would have cost a fortune. I opted for the guy that trained under him and was his assistant for many years and partner in practice. I dont regret driving three hours away for the hospital stay one bit. My big advice is go to a Bariatric Center for Excellence. They are certified for bariatric stay and have the facilities to handle obese people in all areas. I went to Emory at Johns Creek in North Atlanta and it was like staying at the Hilton Hotel. I highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking a place to have bariatric surgery. They have their own ward and trained nursing staff for bariatric only. Its totally ok to interview your doctor as well. i did so I could find out how many surgeries he had done. How many people did not make it, What was his sucess rate. Its important to get that sort of information prior to surgery. We all take a risk of sorts to get this WLS. Its not for everyone and those of us that take the risk usually benifit greatly in the long run for years and years of better living. With your current BMI I can understand completely your need to get this done. Just find someone you feel confident in to handle the proceedure, a good place to have it done and plan time to get used to the post operative stage.
My best to you on this big step in life.
