Had staples removed today instead of Thursday

Replace the word sticth with staples. I don't know what I was thinking to type the wrong word LOL!

I am so happy you were able to get those stitches out sooner rather than later. When mine were removed I felt so much better I couldn't believe it. I felt more normal if thats even possible. After stitch removal I just daily used antibiotic soap in the shower over the incision areas and the inflamation went down pretty quick. I actually am very sensitive to metals and I think my staples actually caused more problems for me than the incisons they were meant to close LOL!

Sister-friend, I so hear you!  I already feel a ton better, more "normal" as you said, though I am just paranoid about that crazy one on the bottom.  I'm going to have hubby take a good look at it tonight and then have him monitor it like a hawk for me.  I still have the bottle of antibiotic soap that I was given to shower with pre-op so I'm continuing to use that on my tummy until it's gone also.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I had the same problem with my staples, they looked really good one day then the next day they were red and puffy. I had my appointment the following day so I did not all the office. I knew my surgeon was not  in the office and I was seeing one of the other drs. I did not check after he had taken out the staples to make sure he got them all (just thought he would know if they were all out) later that night I had one spot that was really bothering me a lot more than the others and I went to take a look and sure enough he missed one spot that had 4 staples. I started to try and take them out myself then thought better of that idea so I had to go in the next day and one of the nurses took them out, she did a lot better job I did not feel her doing it but when the dr took the others out i felt every one he pulled.

Thanks bunches, Jeff!  Isn't that wild how the staples go from great to really-not-great in just the matter of one day?  No wonder they want them out in 7-10 days.  It was on the 10th day when I was ready to scream.  (Mental-note for any future staple sutures!)  And oh my gosh about missing a staple.  You had me freaking out and running to the mirror on that note!  My word.  I think I'd seriously have to have hubby do it for me a.s.a.p. rather than make another appointment and another 1+ hour drive to have it removed.  Glad we are both past that part of our journies!  Phew!  Everything else going okay for you now?  You are looking so great!

I have been away from OH since right after your surgery, now I come back and get to learn something new!  I just know if you hadn't told about this that I would have been pulling around everywhere to see incisions instead of having DH look or getting a mirror.  Thanks for the info.  I am glad you are doing ok and have those staples out, now just listen to the great advice you have gotten here and behave yourself a bit!!!

Welcome back, Saprina!  Yes, yes, yes, I think it is just natural inclination to pull and look.  I want to make a sticky at the top of the forum, "Pre-ops, Just Say No!!!"  lol  Hubby is already rolling his eyes because I've asked him to keep checking my bottom incision.  "Honey, it doesn't look any different now than it did 20 minutes ago."  LOL  (Just kidding -- I had him look again last night and then this morning, but he does have that 20-minute tone to his voice when he tells me it looks fine.)  I will try to behave but the fog is clearing mentally and physically now and I'm a bit stir-crazy.  Intend on doing some tidying and cleaning in my bedroom/bathroom today.  Have a safe trip this weekend!

You make me very happy that my surgeon used super glue! LOL  It was supposed to wear off naturally but ewwwww. It was like rubbery snot.
I'm so glad you got in early and got those staples out.
Hugs
Jane
