Prayers for our daughter, PLEASE!
Our daughter burned her eye with her curling iron. NOT her eye-lid, her CORNEA! This happened about 4 hours ago. She was in Eugene on business. She lives and works near Portland, the Corp. offices are in Eugene. Curling her hair in the hotel room when it happened. She called the office secretary who went and got her and took her to the ER. They doped her up, did what they could, put a patch over it and she is on her way to an eye specialist. She can't see out of that eye and she is still in great pain, even with the drugs. The specialist will find out how bad the damage is and if it is permanent.
It is times like this that I wish we still lived close to them!! Her husband is on his way down there, but I want to be there and hug her!
No one like our Mom when we are hurt or sick!
I'll keep her and you in my prayers for sure. You must be worried sick!
HUGS

Well, I just heard from our daughter. The eye specialist says he doesn't think there will be any permanent damage, but healing will take quite awhile. She has to go back to see him at 9 AM tomorrow. She still can't see out of that eye.
She is taking percocet, but it doesn't touch the pain, just makes her dopey. She took 3 in 2 hours, with no relief. She is afraid to take any more. She did get some eye drops which numb it up great. But it only lasts 10 minutes. The doc told her to use them sparingly because her eye will get used to them, and after awhile they won't be affective anymore.
She called her husband before he left home and told him not to come, there is nothing he can do. They have 2 kids who are involved in a lot of activities, and have to be driven to and from school (private school, quite aways from their house, no bus). So he stayed home. The corp. secretary is staying at the hotel with her to babysit and then she will take her home tomorrow.
Our daughter has worked for this corp since high school. It's the only place she has ever worked. So they are pretty much like her family. She started as a crew person and is now the VP of operations and franchisee and runs 40 Taco Bells in the Northwest.
Thank you all for your prayers. They DO work!
Hugs,
Sheryl
