Frustrated at 6 weeks post-op
I am getting a little frustrated tomorrow I will be 6 weeks out. I have not lost any weight in 11 days. I know you run into stalls but I did not think it would be this early or for this long. i am not sure if I am doing something wrong or what. Today I have had a container of yogurt, 2 8 oz protein shakes about a 1/3 of a cup of chicken salad made with low fat mayo, and I have not eaten dinner yet. This is pretty much what I have every day. Does it sound like I am doing something wrong along the way?
thanks Jeff
Do you need to increase your water intake? What are you doing for exercise? walking? is it time to add another 10 minutes?
Don't get discouraged. I really think that it is okay and you will start dropping weight again very soon.

As I recall, a common first stall is at week three for a week or so. Then the stalls come and go.
The big problem with stalls are that they can put us into the mindset some of us had pre-op "This stupid diet doesn't work, nothing works, my body is just supposed to be fat, I am tired of trying . . ." Don't fall into that mindset.
Sounds like everything is going just right. Weight loss is not a steady progress thing, it comes in fits and spurts.
Hang in there! And don't hesitate to post here when you';re frustrated (like you've done here) that's one of the big plusses of this board.

When have you ever lost 67 pounds in that short of time? You are doing fantastic!!!! your body is trying to do a self defense recovery right now!! I promise you YOU WILL start losing again!! stay off that scale!!! I know it is sooo hard to do...I know this sounds crazy but the more I ate the more weight I lost... make sure you are drinking lots of water.. keep your chin up, things will start moving again!!

(((Jeff))),
Take heart. I know it's frustrating, but you are doing just fine. Be sure to continue to take your supplements, get in the protien and fluids. Check the tape measure. Often when the scale won't budge the tape measure does. At any rate, your body has lost an ENORMOUS amount of weight in the last 6 weeks by any standard and it's taking a bit to regroup. It's trying desperately to hold on to your precious fat reserves that you are trying equally desperately to get rid of ... The good news is that you WILL win this battle of the buldge and I look forward to a post soon telling me of your latests DROP in weight. Often whenyou have a prolonged stall, when it breaks, it's like the dam bursts and you'll see a significant drop.
I know it's scary, but it's soooo normal.
Hang in there... Keep doing what your Dr and Nut have told you to do and you'll get there.
