I am freaking out

My surgery is 3 days away. Well, I hope so anyway.

My Surgeon is very strict about not gaining ANY weight or on the morning of surgery he WON"T do the surgery if you have. Well, I know most of it is my fault, but I have tried really hard and the same few lbs kept coming back.. Well, I got pretty hard on myself and lost 3 lbs, Gah i know it doesnt sound like much, but it was hard. :( Well, Dr B took me off my medicine that I have for fluid retention and my period is about to start and guess what? I gained 6 lbs. I cried all day yesterday..  Should have cried enough fluid to leave my body, but this morning the fluid is still there and I`m still up and even though i prayed my period wouldnt start before surgery, now I kinda wi**** would to get this fluid out so I can at least have this surgery.
 I must sound like a basket case.. I am right now.
Would it hurt to take my fluid pills?
I`ll be gone to work for 12 hours today so I won't be able to respond until tonight, but thanks for letting me vent... and everyone that prays, please pray. And for those that may feel the need to give me a lecture, please refrain,, I have been hard enough on myself.

indy - No lectures from me - but call your doctor's office and discuss everything with them... the other thing you can do is start now with liquids only.  I know how crazy it sounds when you are retaining fluid - but push the water... it will help your kidneys rid your body of the extra fluid.

 Sorry you are freaking.
I have the same issues but my surgery is in 2 weeks, and I am hoping that I don't gain cause my doc is the same way.
I definitely agree call your dr and talk to them as to what to do. I know last week before my last pre op appt I was up and I was soooo not looking forward to my appt and so I called my drs office and Janell told me to do liquids. I usually go up anywhere from 5-10 pounds when Aunt Flow comes to visit and sure enough 3 days before appt I was up 8 pounds but I did liquids over the weekend and sure enough come Monday morning I was only up 2 oz.
You can do this, you have made it this far. Quit being so hard on yourself. You are in my prayers this week. I wish you a relaxed week and a no complications surgery and a speedy recovery!!!!!

Cindy,  I'm so sorry you are having to stress about this.  What bad timing for your period!  I do have to 3rd the liquids...that's probably a sure-fire way to be okay in 3 days.  Let us know what your dr. says.    Thinking of you!

I am so sorry you are stressing. I am with the same group you are with and I do know about not gaining any weight. I do know from experience the fluids will help. But give them a call and let them know what's going on. Im sure they will understand and relate to this with other patients in the past. Please let us know the outcome of this. I hope all goes well.

Thanks all, I looked to see if I could just delete this entire post, but I don't see where I can. I feel so many emotions.. Really stupid for posting this, really stupid for thinking I was okay because I had lost 3 little lbs., really stressed, and also trying to still be positive (lol)
 I'm sure that since it's almost (that time) that I am just overly emotional.. please disregard me now! LOL
  My daughter is stressing me too.. Any one want a 19 year old??? LOL
  Oh, both of my kids have just moved back in.. My daughter a couple of weeks ago, and my 20 year old this past weekend. If only they could get along!

Honey, I have so been there about wishing I could delete a post!  (And I've done it once or twice!  lol)  But don't you sweat this.  You are FINE!  No way are we going to disregard you.  The emotions and worries you are going through are so totally normal.  {{{Hugs}}}  Hubby and I both had a very sleepless night last night due to our 20yo daughter, so I'm so with you about that stress.  Hang in there! 

You will most likely get a lecture anyway so don't worry about it. I had only lost 9 lbs from my consult to my surgery date and he fussed at me right before I went in for mine and said if I had been a larger person he would be canceling it!!!!!!! Just be prepared. Call ahead and let him know and that will mean if he is that upset, he can say so then!!!!!!!!!! You have to just be prepared bc that is how he is. He is a great surgeon though.

Call your doctor and tell him you have water weight gain from your cycle. I still gain 3-5 lbs once a month and it is not from eating, it is from water retention. It is not your fault this is happening, call them and tell them whats up!! best of luck to you and try to take a deep breath and relax
