7:15am on Monday...my surgery time!

Just got the call!  I can't believe I'm the first one up.  I know that's a good thing, to be first.  But, we're trying to figure out how to get my oldest on the bus for school now.  We need to get someone to come by at 5am and then get my daughter dressed.  But she's already crying about this.

Another option is that I go myself and my husband take a cab after he's got the kids settled.  But that means I'd go through the surgery and be in recovery before my husband gets there.  Has anyone else ever done that?  I'm lapband.

As for the children - is it possible for them to spend the night with a friend to get to school, etc.  I assume you don't have family close by to help??  That would take their mind off waht is happening.

Certainly your hubby could come later, but I would sure hate to be waiting alone, etc.  Also check to see if the hospital has to know you have someone to get you home, etc. before you go this route.  Will you be staying overnight or is it done outpatient??

That's a great idea having her spend the night with someone...why didn't I think of that!   It should be outpatient since the surgery is so early in the morning.  Thanks!

Congratulations and good luck!  Hope you get everything figured out for your family...that was a priority for me as well.  Once we were at the hospital, Allen was only allowed to be with me for a short time and then the next time I saw him was...recovery, hospital room, ???  I told ya'll, I have forgotten almost everything about the hospital stuff...it is so weird!  That said, I don't know if the hospital would have liked doing the surgery without a family member there.  I would ask them before showing up alone.  Again, good luck!  Hope the weekend flies by for you.

Thanks Cindy!   I"ve been reading your posts and have been saying many little prayers for you.  I hope you're feeling better, and if not, you can tell me.   I don't think it's good to keep those feelings inside.   You look wonderful!

Thanks Vicki for all the prayers because they work, I'm doing better for the most part and I'll be two months out tomorrow or should I say today since now its after midnight. Keep me posted on how everyting goes with you.
