I'm Home
I see that Shelia was a fantastic angel with her updates here...she was the best angel anyone could have ever hoped for with Allen and I at the hospital. We Shelia!
Thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts. They must have sent all the positive energy I needed my way because I am feeling wonderful! Thanks also to all of my other lovely visitors -- Jennifer, Pam (and family), Wendy, Leslie (and family), my dear children, and Kim, via your balloons! -- your visits were all so very special.
The morphine did a number on me (Darcie, we'll have to compare notes later...I now have lizard skin on my face as a result!) but once I was off of it, I turned a corner and felt really good. Right now I have the famous left side pain. I'm doing good with sipping and walking. I haven't slept well for the past 4 nights so I got a nice nap when I got home today and am looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight.
Since I love to write and would love to share a play-by-play of everything that happened while going through my surgery and hospital stay, mostly for all of you that are waiting in the wings, I will work on that as soon as I have the mental clarity.
Right now, I'm happy to be home, finally on the loser's bench!
Ohhh, and for a quick laugh. Remember my Wizard of Oz analogy? Shelia and I about cracked up when we realized the poster I'd been staring at across from my hospital bed was this:
How's that for irony?!
Love 'n hugs to all!
