If you are definetly sure this is what you want to do. I would call back and ask the office is there anything you can be doing before your appt. Example collecting Doctors notes, psych visit, etc.

Depending who you are going to each doctor has their own requirements before they do the surgery.

You might also see if they have a cancellation list.

Contact the surgeon's office and see if they have some information regarding the tests and consults that they will require and see if you can get those appointments done in the meantime. There is also some good reading you can do between now and then. I strongly suggest that you get "The Beck Diet Solution" which will provide you some tools to help you learn to think thin. I also suggest that you get the book titled, Weight Loss Surgery: Finding the Thin Person Hiding Inside You, by Barbara Thompson.

Wishing you all the best,

Barbara

Another hello and congratulations!  I've learned that the more proactive you are, the quicker things go.  Don't be afraid to make phone calls, ask questions, pick up medical records and hand deliver them yourself, make your own appointments, etc.  The less you rely on others, the less of an opportunity you allow them to slow down your process!  Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advise.  I called the dr.s office and they sent me a packet of information and forms to complete.  I've called my insurance company and planning to call my primary care dr this week to have them send the surgeon my records.  Once I fill out all the forms I'm taking them to the surgeon's office.
