Best things about having WLS... xpost

Here are some of my favorite things ...

Resolved health issues ... Type 2 Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Hemochromatosis, Cholesterol down over 100 points, No more joint pain in my knees, no more stress incontenance...

Improved Quality of Life ... My endurance had unfolded, there are sooooo many little things that I can do now that I couldn't before ... too many to list, but they are little things that make a huge difference my daily life. Just a few include the ability to tie my shoes and breathe at the same time, fit in a airplane seat w/out an extender and room to spare, shop at any store my wallet can afford because every 'designer' or brand makes something that fits me ... and soooo many more.

I look better ... in clothes anyways.

Please share your 'best things' about your journey too!

I read this post earlier this morning and it's made me think. Yes my health has improved. Yes I have energy now. Yes my clothes fit better (most of the time). BUT the biggest thing is I think WLS has made me a better person. I am much more appreciative of people and things around me. Maybe I'm just not a fat, bitter person anymore. I'm much more hopeful - if that makes any sense to anyone else.

I guess my favorite thing is - well, ME!!!! I like who I'm becoming.

Hi Iris,

I did'nt know you for very long or well prior to your sugery, but I liked the person that I've known and am coming to know better. More than that, I'm glad to hear that YOU LIKE the person that you are getting to know now. I have a feeling that the 'you' that you are 'finding' has always been there, but may been buried before. I'll bet you'll like the new you more and more as you continue your metamorphosis.

Its only been a little over  a week for me, but I am already off of both of my diabetes meds and I have to go back in a week for a bp check and she said she might take me off of one on my bp meds at that time. My main goal about getting my blood sugar back under control has happened in less than a week.  A few people have said they can tell in my face that I have lost weight so that is pretty cool too!
