I don't want to be in the "single digits" clothing...
Barb,
You don't have to apologize at all. I was not offended by your comment it really just got me thinking about what I want from this surgery and this lifestyle. You have NO reason to apologize and I apologize if what I wrote hurt your feelings. I understood what you were saying and it just got me to thinking. That is all!! No hurt feelings over anything. It is so difficult over typing to hear the emotion to what someone is saying, you can't see their face, read their body language or hear the tone. I am not mad at all, just happy to be thinking about what I really want from all this. I am not offended in any way shape or fashion. Please accept my apologies : )

I want to be healthy too, and think I am, but I'm in single digits and have to admit that I do love it. On the other hand, I'm just a smidgeon under 5'3" so I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I think it all depends on our frame and weight. My doctor wanted me to be 110 because I'm so small-framed. I think you've got a great outlook, so you'll do great.
Mandy,
Great post... I'm glad you're being realistic... I'm also tall (5'10") and just know I will never be single digits. I'm over 6 years PO and have gotten down to a size 14 and felt like that was good for me. I am working to get back to that size (I gained about 25lbs this past 2 years), but if I don't get back to a size 14 and remain as healthy as I am now I'm ticked pink! My doctor's are happy and I'm happier than I've ever been. Anyway, Just wanted to put my 2 cents in also. Have a great day!!!

Great post! I am 5'7 and have a large frame.. I weigh as much as I did in high school right now but I used to wear size 9 clothes at this weight but now at the same weight Im wearing 4/6. I didnt do this surgery to be thin, I did it to get my high blood pressure DOWN and my metabolic syndrome GONE and off meds and thats what I have achieved!! I dont care about clothing sizes.... as long as I am happy and feel better then I did at 241 lbs then life is good!!
Great Thread!~
I am with ya girl! I am 5'11 and 100% Czech- we come from a "heartier stock" The thinnest I have EVER been was a size 10-12 and that was when I was in the Army running 30 miles a week and before babies.
My wish is to get back to a 10/12- but I would be ELATED with a 14/16 (I am currently a 22/24)
I have just decided to ride the train as "low" as it will take me (with in healthy limits of course)
Success is so personal afterall!

I agree with what you all are saying. The first and main reason for having this surgery is for my health issues. However, I would love to see what I look like wearing a size 8. I'm 5'8" and don't know if I will get there, but I think it would be awesome. My friend had wls last year. She went from size 26 to an 8. I have to say she looks good and not to skinny at all. Very little saggy skin and can wear a modest bikini. Like you all said, anything smaller than I am now will be great.. To be in a size 16 would be great. Just getting 80 pounds off would be a life saving thing for me.
I brought groceries in awhile ago and realized I was carrying in about 25 - 30 lbs of groceries. I imagined how great it would be just to lose 30 lbs.
I've said enough. Thanks for the ear.

I am 5'5" and currently in a 18 to 20. I would love to be a single digit size but I really have not been able to see that in my future. I came from a 32 -34 or a 4x - 5x. So even 20 looks good to me. I don't think anyone can take offense to someone hopeing we can get to our healthiest and smallest sizes. No matter what our own dreams are. Size only matters in our own mind. I think we all can agree on that especially since we all came from the obeise side of the chart. The smallest size I ever have been in my adult life was a 14. I hope to make it there. Good luck to all and may each of your dreams come true.
