I LOVE my surgery!!

Just had to share it! Today I am wearing size 10 jeans!  Who would have thought?  Not me!  Yeah, they're snug in the waist (my tough area) but I wear them buttoned nonetheless. Darcie would be sooooooo proud, lol. I know I would have reached this point sooner had I followed the program to a T, but I didn't have this surgery to be on a "diet" all my life, I just wanted to eat responsibility. Sometimes I wonder should I have had RNY and lost really fast and been at my goal now, esp. since I still am a sweet addict, and then other times I'm satisfied with taking it slow and steady.  Hey, at least I'm getting there!

Now, to share my newest observation: I've been going to the gym and all that good stuff, but the other night DH and I rode our bikes (in the wind"resistance"), yeah, it wore me out. The next night my westie "took me for a jaunt" and I for the next day I could actually feel my lower abdomen muscles aching. I rode last night again, and same thing today!  I think I'm going to try riding about 3x a week and hope to get rid of this roll, maybe these jeans will feel more comfortable!

Hope everyone's having a great day- stay warm, the wind here is wicked!

Nancy,

I think like you do at times - if I had gone the RNY route, I might be 60 or 70 pounds lighter...  But for the most part I am liking what I am doing.  I have been struggling lately with no loss or gain, so I went yesterday for a fill...  I defintely feel restriction today

I have more energy - can do things I haven't done in years and can get back into my clothes that have hung in the closet for a long time being unworn.  It feels great!

Nancy,

Congratulations!!! I can' t wait to see you again. I'll bet I'll hardly recognize you. Can you believe it's been almost a year?!

You know that even if you'd had RNY, you may well have been like Darcie and me and not had dumping issues with sweets anyway. I don't really think it matters how fast you lose the weight. I just matters that you lose enough to be healthy and happy. It seems to me that you've already done that and any more that you lose is just the 'cherry on top.'

Keep up the good work my friend... and enjoy those size 10's while they still fit!

Hugs,

Barb

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Nancy... I think I saw you and your husband riding your bike in front of my house... I thought that was you but not sure! I even made the comment to my fiance how jealous I was and how I can not wait to be able to ride bikes again~ Good for you girl~
