OT: NC Farmers Markets?????

I'm wanting to ask if anyone knows where they have any pretty larger farmers markets where I can buy apples by the bushel (or case).  I really don't want to have to travel to the mtns. if I don't have to......I looked on the NC website and they also toss in the small curb markets and the mom and pops, so you really can't tell by that.  I know when I pass thru the Raleigh area there are signs but I'm not sure how big that one is. When I lived in Greensboro I went to the one there, but it's sort of far now. It's that time of year again to make my applesauce!  (with splenda of course!) Thanks!

From what I understand, the one in Raleigh is HUGE!!!  I think it lies on 75+ acres of land!
Good Luck :)

Don't know what website you used, but this is my favorite.  It has all the ones in our area, large and small, and it looks like it has the larger ones in other areas as well.  Homemade applesauce is to die for...have fun!

Hey, let me know if you go to the Raliegh or Goldsboro Farmers Markets, if I'm off maybe we can go together...  Sorry I couldn't get you any apples while I was in the mtns, they said that type sell in September... ugh!

Have a great week!

The Raleigh one is HUGE....... I am not sure on if there is more than one but one of the buildings require that EVERYTHING in it comes from NC growers.   I LOVE going there.  Now is Apple and Pumpkin time so there are numerous farms there wtih those crops.  They let you taste the apples too...... and on the weekends some even bake things with apples for you to try too.... YUMM-O

There is one vendor who sells sweet potatoes who often bakes them up for people to taste.

They sell by the apple, the peck, the box however you want it.  I haven't gotten any in a while (since before my mom died) we used to make our own applesauce for the winter and spring months (if we could get it to last that long anyway).....

now imma thinking about some homemade applesauce....

There are lots of different things you can pick up..... there is even a meat center where you can get ostrich, duck and bison among other "different" meats.

if you click the link there is even a spot to check the prices so your not shocked when you get there.

Glad I could help.

It is a great place... .just don't eat at the restaurant there.... unless it is the one that has the Fried Seafood that is awesome (the other one sucks)

Enjoy your trip there.
