Guess what? I have a surgery date!
How does November 21st sound for a new birthday?! It sounds absolutely perfect to me!
Of course, it wouldn't be *me* if I didn't type ya'll a whole big long story about what happened today. lol Sooo...
I woke with a mac-daddy of a migraine this morning. Took pills, then more pills, then we had to hit the road. The entire hour drive, into the sunrise, mind you, I was laying in a fetal position moaning. I couldn't eat anything for 1 hour before my appointment, so I couldn't take more meds and I couldn't try my typical migraine fix, which is a super strong espresso with a piece of dark chocolate. My first part of the appointment at the weight loss clinic I spent absolutely dying. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out or hurl. When we went up to the waiting room in the surgical clinic, I had to read and sign a bunch of papers. By the end of that, I ran to the bathroom and finally bowed to the porcelain god. Ughhh! I was sooo afraid I'd totally ruined the breath test portion of the visit by doing so. Went back to the waiting room and curled up on Allen wanting to DIE waiting to be called back.
I was able to do the breath test because stuff can come up, it just can't go down. (Sorry for TMI!). Amazing enough, after I did the 4 deep breaths in and out, it took the tiniest edge off of my headache! Then, after drinking the sickening sweet lemony stuff, another bit of the edge came off! I felt like I was semi-human by then. 15 minutes later, after the last part of the breath test, I got to take more medicine with a Monster Black that I'd stuck in my purse. PHEWWW! By the time I met with Dr. Cook, I was able to function mentally! Can't believe that such a happy, fun day started off so freaking unbearable! lol (Yeah, I can laugh about it now!)
Again, LOVE Jock Stetz with Frye Medical, LOVE Dr. Cook with Hickory Surgical, and I LOVED everyone else in between. Awesome group of people!
Looks like I will be going in for pre-op on either the 5th or 6th of November. Since an ultrasound in January showed that I do have a fatty liver, I offered to be on the pre-op diet for more than typical 10 days if Dr. Cook thought it would help. Looks like I will be but I don't know how much longer...he is supposed to let me know. The earliest surgery date they had was the 18th, but I chose the 21st because it is going to be ideal for my family. I will have the surgery on Friday, so hubby will take that day off, and then I'll get to come home on Sunday (knock on wood!). The kids are out of school Wednesday through Friday, so I will only have to worry about arrangements for them on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. Since our oldest daughter just moved back home and works 3-11 shift, that shouldn't be a problem now!
AND!!! I found out today that I only have to pay $2540 instead of the $3900 I have saved. We've been running short this month, so that was a huge load off our shoulders to have that extra cushion now.
Today really ended on a good note! Have been thinking ever since we left Hickory that I couldn't wait to get home and share the news with you all! I'm so thankful and sooo excited!!!
(And you should have seen me trying to type all of this with Viv attacking my fingers and typing her own stuff this entire post! lol)

I am so glad you made it through all that headachy morning and got to the good stuff. The money bonus is great too! November is a good month for birthdays. There sure are a lot of them in my family so I definitely approve. Have a great rest of the day.
