Waiting surgery approval in NC

Hi Kim!  Hope you get some good news from your insurance soon.  You are doing fabulous in your preparation for the surgery and it will help to ensure your success later on.  I'm with you about all the waiting.  Finally got my surgery date today for November 21st and I've been pursuing things since July 1st.  Good luck and look forward to hearing when you get your approval!

Best of luck on your insurance approval.  I see from your profile that Dr. Mac. is your surgeon.  You've made a wise decision.  I will say, however, you may want to stay in contact with his office staff.  Don't wait on a call from them, be proactive.

Thanks everyone!  I called Dr MacDonald's office today and they did hear back from my primary insurance and she said she faxed an approval request letter to the secondary today.  So I am hoping that will be back sometime this week.  I'll be calling them again next Monday if I don't hear from them.  I want to make sure this gets done in 2008, I'd hate to have to meet all the deductables and co-pays AGAIN.. LOL  I work in Retail, so I was hoping to be back to work before Thanksgiving, but I doesn't look like that is going to happen.

How long did you all stay out of work?  I have an office job.  I do have to do some lifting, but I can get someone else to do it for a few weeks after my surgery.

I was back at work after 2 weeks.  I work behind a desk also.  The work wasn't "hard" to do, but I still went home after work at FELL OUT for about a week after going back. 

Hey... Jami... if you start a support group in Havelock let me know. Hopefully it will fall on one of my nights off and I would soooo drive to Havelock.. or New Bern even. I am there at least once a week anyway~
