Waiting surgery approval in NC

Hi everyone.  I'm Kim in New Bern, NC.  I am hopefully waiting insurance approval for my gastric bypass surgery with Dr Kenneth Macdonald in Greenville.  Just thought I'd say hello.  Reading through all of your posts has been really helpful.  I've already started working out and have lost 23 pounds on the pre-surgery diet.  I'm getting excited and can barley stand this waiting.  I know the insurance will approve it, but it takes soooooooo dang long!!  Anyway, nice to meet you all.

   I'm not too far after you.. I have my Nutrition appointment on Tuesday and then I'll be waiting for Insurance approval. I hope it doesn't take too long for either of us!! Good luck!

Kim, Welcome to the NC board!  You'll love it here, I'm sure and find this a great place for direction!  I wanted to invite you to the Onslow Co. support group meetings.  We don't have one scheduled as of yet, but keep your eyes open on this board and feel free to come and join us!  I hope you don't have long to wait for your approval.......I remember that was the pits!

Good Luck Kimberly, I know waiting for approval seemed like the toughest part to me, but luckily my insurance came back with approval within 48 hours.  I will be praying for swift approval for you.

Hi Kim!! I am in Cherry Point, not very far at all from you!! I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on your first steps on your new journey!!
I am planning on doing a local meet up here in Havelock, it was actually recommended that I do it, by my surgeon :) I guess he thinks that I am a "success story" and a good one to pass on some inspiration!!!
It will probably be the begining of NOvember sometime and would love for you to join us!! It is not formal, just a group of us that have had or are thinking of having the surgery, to get together and share our stories!! It is a place to meet new friends just like you, who know exactly what you are going through :) So if you are interested please PM me and I will give you more information as I figure out a date!!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.    The waiting game is a hard part of this journey.  I started back at the end of July with my first appt with orientation.  I've moved along pretty quick, but I have two insurances and the primary doesn't cover it.  Unfortunately, they have to go to them first, so maybe that is why it's taking so long.  It's been 2 weeks since they submitted to my insurance.  I hope to hear back anytime now.

On another note, how do you guys add your ticker as a signature?
