I don't know how much I weigh right now.

But I do know I am getting slightler smaller. I asked my DH to hide the scale and he did! I seemed to get stuck on the scale and it was all opver the place for about a week and a half and I new it was normal but I didn't want to see it happen any more. So he complied with my request. I had to buy some jeans for my new job so I of course went to goodwill since there was no point in spending lots of money on jeans that would be too big soon enough. I bought two pair. One was a size 22 pair of Mom jeans and was a loose fit everywhere except the waist where thay were a little uncomfortably too tight. The second pair was a size 20 stretch jean and they fit really well even in the waist. Now both pair are a little too big already. Also I have two pair of capris I bought a while before my surgery that are size 20 and they fit a little loose now. Could it be I am heading for size 18s when I go goodwill hunting tomorrow? Its certainly a nice thought. Maybe I just need to not weigh again until I go back to the doctor I think in November. Can I do that?

I've had to have my hubby hide the scale before too!  There are times it just affects me too much and I need a break from it.  If you are doing everything right, there's really no need to step on a scale because you KNOW the weight is gonna come off after RNY.  :)  Can't wait to hear what sizes you come away with tomorrow!

OMG Ann I am so happy for you.
Stay off that scale!!!! So when November gets here you will get a BIG WOW.
I am staying off the scale myself and just listening to my body and judging how clothes are fitting.
In fact I may take a deep breath and buy SMALL sweats next time I am at Target.
My MEDIUMS are getting soo baggy.
See you tomorrow.

As much as I hate trying clothes on when shopping I think I will try them before buying from now on. I can not tell anymore what size I truly am that day without it

Hi Ann,

Congratulations on the suddenly shrinking you ... I know a number of folks that have hidden the scales and only weigh when they see their Dr. You should do whatever works best for you. I tortured and rewarded myself with my scales and get on them every morning to this day. I would say that eventually, getting on them on a daily basis is a good thing because we have spent plenty of years playing ostrich and hiding from our scales. Getting on them everyday reminds me that I need to be accountable to me. This was also true for me as I was losing, it helped me remember that I needed to do things that enabled and supported my quest to get healthy and rid myself of those deadly extra pounds. Now, I get on the scale on a daily basis to remind myself of where I am and where I want to be. Eventually, the numbers on the scale quits dropping and it's actually a little scary to see it bounce around within a couple of pounds, but then you become comfortable with knowing where you are 'supposed' to be. It's really comforting to know that I am maintaining my weight and that if I go beyond a certain threshold I set for myself ... 3 lbs. watch it, 5 lbs. lose it... then I can maintain my hard won losses and gains.

Do what works for you ... and what works for you now and what works for you later might even change.

Barb
