Andrea's Vitamin Project (XP)

I'm all about the talking in the 3rd person thing these days.  Maybe I need meds.  Who knows.

In any case, I thought I would give an update on this project, how it is progressing, and what it will encompass.

I'm also looking for a few more writers -- preferrably some bandsters, VSG'ers, and DS'ers that have a pretty strong knowledge of nutrition.  If interested, lemme know.  I've got a few good people for RNY, but hey, I'm interested in seeing what people got.

The site will be a central clearing house for nutritional information for all surgery types.  It will be scientific, fact-based, and will not be commercialized or politicized.

The site will have the following:

1) Actual white pages, or professional medical resources about nutrition in general as well as post-op nutrition.  BTW, if you have a source, PM me.  I'd love hard copy or .pdf links.  This way people can do their own research, make their own opinions, and not be spoon-fed by *anyone*.

2) A bullet-point summary of each white page in NORMAL ENGLISH

3) Educated opinions on the specific article by folks of various surgery types (I hope!) -- limited to the scope of the particular article

4) Various articles on topics that might cross one or two of the sources; for example, thoughts on the new Citrical Bone Density pill, or the effects of PPIs on calcium absorption, along with proper citation and links.

So yes, this is all in the works.  Hubby's been working feverishly on designing the site to allow for various functionality such as search engines, random article generation, etc.

So keep tuned!

Andrea - you are so energetic - I don't know how you find the time with 2 adorable children, too.

Once again, thanks for all that you do.

Sounds like a great service to us all!  However I do hope you will continue to post your One-a-Day tips!  I understand you are not a medical professional but my experience and research has shown me that so few medical professionals know what the needs are of the bariatric patient and we really need to do our own research on these matters.  So I, for one, really appreciate all that you do.
