Congratulations and welcome home!!! It's great isn't it? You would never believe you just had your guts rerouted, would you?!?
Keep up with that walking. It will keep the pain at bay and relieve gas as well as protect you from clots. Walk a good 10 mins every hour.
And sip, sip, sip! Keep water or protein liquid with you at all times. I think the biggest problem folks suffer from at the very beginning is dehydration, which can make you feel REALLY pruny! So make a conscious effort to sip! You can worry about the protein intake later!
Keep up the great work and congratulations again!

Walk and sip, walk and sip! :) I had a hard time remembering to drink so often, so I got a watch with a timer and set it to beep every 15 minutes. I used that for the first few months. After that, the sipping became a routine without thinking about it, but in the beginning the time went by so much faster than I thought it would. I would have gotten dehydrated without that constant reminder.
I'm glad everything went well & welcome to the loser's bench!

Welcome to post surgery world. My only advice is no matter how wierd the feeling is to have something solid other than jello or a popcycle in your mouth dont stray from the diet. When you get to the blended stage it will begin to shape up a bit more normal. Just look at it like your at boot camp for the next few weeks and you are going to give your scales a much needed lift upwards. Im glad you did well in the hospital and hope you begin to enjoy your new life. Maybe the worst of the worry is over for a while for you. Oh one other thing and I hope you dont take this the wrong way but you will know you are on the right track the first time someone hits on you and means it. Good luck
