Sorry you are feeling so blue.  You've already been given a lot of good advice.  I just wanted to add that you have to remember that your hormones are going wild right now too and your body has just been through quite an ordeal having just gone through major surgery.  Give yourself time to adjust.  Life will get better!  Hang in there sweetie!!

What you are feeling is how I felt. I missed food sooo much, I HATED the post op liquid diet so much I was crying and actually told my husband that I wanted to call up Dr. Mann and re-hook my stomach back up I was mad and sad and missed food. One of the best things is as time goes by is to get up and do something! Go get a pedicure, go window shop, go get your hair done ect ect do something to celebrate the new and exciting Y O U. Best of luck to you!!!

Smile sweetie,
Darcie

It is extremely common for post ops to have a "depressed" period between 2 and 6 weeks post op.  It is your body reacting to a startling lack of food compared to what it used to recieve.  It is not all that different from what people in 3rd world countries go through from lack of food.  Your body's natural reaction is to depress itself in an attempt to conserve what little caloric intake you are getting per day.  The good news is it usually just lasts a week or so then you will perk up quite a bit.  The energy will return slowly but at a month or 6 weeks out, you will most likely feel like a new person.

Take it easy on yourself and continue to do what you can to follow your doctor's recommendations.  This too shall pass, I am sure of it.

Take care.
Ellen

My wife had it I had it and many of us are yet to have that lawd I am sick of liquid food for the last time. Then we go to blended stuff. Its still almost like liquid. However the end result is you get to finally after a long time chew something for the first time that does not go squeesh immediately and a tiny bit of normalcy will return. Also alot of patients experience some post surgical mental issues with anesthesia. I about lost my mind years ago having neck surgery then living in a recliner with a neck brace unable to not do much of nothing for three months and on top of it not being able to utter a word over a whisper. So get on with the healing and give it a couple more weeks and when the scales have a big happy face on them and you get to look at something on a plate instead of a cup rejoice that you are well on your way. Its time to live it to the fullest of your capacities cause the new you is about to be unveiled.
