Ketosis help!!!!
I am in week 2 of my 3week pre-surgery diet and am feeling CRAZY!!!!! I'm trying to make sure all my symptoms are normal and that I'm actually in ketosis. I don't have the "smell" to my breath or urine that is often discussed but I am one "swimmy-headed" girl! If I look left or right, stand up, sit down, lay down, any movement what so ever and it seems like the inside of my head is about 2-5 seconds behind my actual head. Please tell me this will pass...I don't know if I can take 3 weeks of this! I know I don't have a choice but is there anything I can do to help aleviate the symptoms?
I went from burning up hot this morning to freezing cold this afternoon. Did any of you experience anything like this? I know everyone is different but any input would be helpful. Some moments during the day I feel worse than others so far as stomach discomfort but the swimmy head is a constant!
Thanks !
Tammy J.
I felt great during my liquids, except when i diverted from my self-imposed scheduled. I had to do 6 shakes a day so i started at 7 pm and did them every 2 1/2 hours so i didn't get lightheaded. Once I went 4 1/2 hours and almost passed out and learned my lesson. If you have them spaced out and things don't get better....call you doc.
Take care and good luck,
Pam
I'm fortunate in that my pre-surgery isn't completly "liquid". Per day it allows for 4oz of lean protein, 1 c of raw veggies or 1/2 c cooked, yogurts, gelatin, plain oatmeal and only 2 protein shakes. I don't think I'm getting enough protein b/c today after being swimmy headed all day and feeling like my body weighed more than it actually does, I had a couple of thin slices of deli roast beef, a yogurt and some water I started perking up. Our plan tries to keep us btwn 600 & 800 cals/day. My body is just going CRAZY!!! I hope it gets regulated soon, a week and a 1/2 more of this will be torture!
Hi Tammy,
It really nice to meet you! Welcome to the NC Forum ... I'm prejudiced, but I think it's the nicest forum on OH. I look forward to getting to know you as you make this incredible journey.
Please give your Dr a call about your symptoms. It sounds to me like you might be a bit dehydrated, but I'm not sure and it would be best to double-check.
I really had issues with my body temperature swinging for the first few months, but the good news is that it all settled and I'm fine now.
Wishing you all the best ... and hang in there! It's absolutely worth every minute of difficulty now.
