OT- Sunday date update

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Plain and simple. We had a really nice relaxed evening. He is incredibly easy to talk to. He was about an hour late getting here - but in his defense he called when he realized that he'd be late and apologized (Wow - I didn't know men could do that). He was by himself so I didn't get to meet his son (really it's his grown stepson that lives and works with him). But I did get extra points by packing up a ton of food and sending home with him. My sons of course were in and out. Wayne Thomas is an overprotective Moma's boy and he had to come through a few times just to "flex" his muscles. (That's an improvement over a past blind date - when he decided it was time to clean his shotguns).

It went so well that we're planning another evening together later this week. Thanks for sending the good energy my way. I probably won't be on line until late this afternoon or evening. I'll catch up with everyone then.

Have a great Monday - Iris

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Iris,

I'm delighted to hear that you had such a lovely evening and that it looks like there are more where that came from.

Iris,

I'm glad you had a great time!  It is true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!  I think it's funny that Wayne Thomas was checking on ya'll... Rex' Son (Michael 26 years old) did that when was over the first time....  Rex and I just laughed.  Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time!!!  Keep us posted!  Try to keep your feet on the ground, I can tell you're walking on sunshine!  LOL!  Just enjoy it!

That's great!  Ok, the shotgun thing reminds me of the country song, can't remember the name right now, but it's about a father who tells the boy taking his daughter out that he'll see them when they get back cause he'll be "sitting here cleaning this gun".......   Gotta love 'em.

Good evening - The longer I've thought about it the funnier Wayne's gun cleaning episode really seems to be. Thank goodness he was on his best behavior yesterday.

He does know about my surgery and in fact we've talked about it in depth - he had lots of questions. Had he been anyone else, I might not have told him all about it. But his Mom is my Aunt's best friend and she already knew all about it and had told him about it.  Honestly - it's one less thing to have to deal with and I didn't feel like he was paying any attention to what I eat (or didn't eat). It made having a meal together a whole lot stressful.

It turns out that we have several mutual friends and there are a few coming events that we'll probably attend together with some of them. Anyway he knows my very best friend from years ago when they ran in the same circles - so she called and invited me over for steamed crabs tonight and told me to call and ask him to come too. So I called and he was still at work -not having a great day. So I relayed the invitation but he declined because he was still at work but he told me that he had dinner already taken care of for tonight by this woman that had really gone to a lot of trouble for him. MY HEART SANK!!!!!!!!!!! I replayed all of our conversations in my mind really quickly and realized that I had assumed he wasn't seeing anyone else. I was about to wish him a nice life. He must have realized that I was panicking because he said "Don't you remember sending me home with the leftovers last night?" He'd been bragging to his boys about what they were going to have for dinner..Duh - I felt a little stupid but very, very flattered.

There's a truck and tractor pull this weekend that I think we might go to. Who knows? I'm going to have lots of fun with this. Have a great day.
