He's Back!!!

Well our son returned from his third tour in Iraq yesterday afternoon!  It will be so nice to have him around again.  He lost 25 pounds and looks so good.  We weigh the same now!  His oldest son says he'll give him 30 days before he is back to his old weight.  Our son says NO WAY!  We shall see.  I know it will take him some time to get used to the routine at home.  Like no sand, or gunfire, or IEDS!  And trying to get back to being a Dad and husband.  I don't think any of us really KNOW!  I hope this is his last tour, but somehow, I doubt it!  He has 24 years in and I think the only way out of another tour is retirement.

On a side note.  I had been sick Tuesday and missed the meeting at Logan's.  I thought it was something I ate Monday (maybe it was that too, because I did have stomach issues).  But then by noon I was running a fever and lungs feeling congested.  Saw the doc yesterday and I have bronchitis.  Chest x-ray showed it's NOT the start of pneumonia, thank heaven.  Got an antibiotic shot in the butt, and pills to begin today.  I HATE big fat pills I have to take in the AM!

Welcome home to your son!  So glad to hear that you don't have pneumonia, but hate to hear you are feeling poorly and have to take yucky big pills.  Get well soon!

Hi Grammy,

I'll bet that the antibiotic will help, but I'll bet that having your son home is likely the best medicine you could have possibly gotten.

I hope that you feel better soon.

I agree with Barb - having your son home is the best medicine of all. take care of yourself and give him another big hug from all of us for serving in our armed forces.

Welcome home to your son!  I know first-hand the toll that deployments take on family back home.  I'm sure it's a real relief to you to have him back on US soil.  :)  Thanks to him and to all of you for supporting him!

Now take those icky pills and get better soon so you can celebrate!  :)
