Psych and Nut checked off my list!!

YEAH!!! Now to send in my medical records to the Surgeon (along with the $150 ha ha ha)
I am so ready for this!!!
Side note ****uick gripe)- Why do people feel the need to tell me "Oh sweetie, YOU don't need that surgery!!"
Seriously?

I got weighed today at the Nut and I have GAINED weight (11 pounds to be exact) and my BMI is now at 40.4. (Thats where my "farewell tour" got me...)
I am just a hair under 6 feet tall- I have more area for all that weight to spread out. Don't make a judgement on MY judgement because I don't LOOK heavy enough to you!!
The numbers do not lie ! 40.4 BMI and 130 pounds over weight- I am a reasonable canidate and I am not just doing this for vanity reasons...
(sigh)
But to end on a good note................
I AM SOOOooOOooOOOoooo Ready for this!!

(just wanted to share)
Hey K ...
Congrats on getting your evals done... and I absolutely understand where you are coming re: comments about your not needing or being eligible for surgery. It about drove me 'round the bend. I had at LEAST one comments like that at nearly every support group meeting I went to before my surgery. Like you I was at about a little over a 40 bmi when I started the program. I lost down to a 37 just before surgery ... but the good news now ... I'm a 21 ... I'll bet in a year or so you will be too!
Don't worry about what others say. I know it's irritating, but it really only matters what you and your Dr thinks is best for you.
Hang in there kiddo!

But I think once I loose the weight and people see how much I was lugging around, their tone will change a bit =)
Thanks Barb- I always appreciate your input and support.!
Yep! Now, when folks see my before photos, I get comments like "OMG, that doesn't even look like you!" Just wait! It's gonna be great!

I totally hear you on the, "You don't need the surgery," issue. I am a freaking BMI of 46 and even *I* have been told that! Thanks so much for your vote of confidence on my beauty, but heck, I wanna LIVE! I'm miserable and I wanna feel better! I honestly think they will understand once they see how much our lives improve post-op.
You better be ready, 'cause you're well on your way now!
Yes, the NUT was not at all a fan of my farewell tour...LOL.. lucky for me she has a great sense of humor =) So, I am going to follow a 1800 calorie a day, balanced diet- work on shrinking that liver =)
And your friends and supporters are right -you are a beauty!! I think what these same supporters forget is that beauty- (even above a 35 BMI) is not healthy. Yes, a new physical appearance is a bonus- but not the main reason for "That surgery"...
Sigh- oh the things we need to teach the world...........................
I am glad things went well for you at UNC.
Maybe you could come to our next UNC support group which will be on the 21st we are having a guest speaker Dr. Lynn Damitz she is a PS and will talk about excess skin removal after weight loss.
Anyway the 150 deposit you pay the surgeon goes towards our support group for snacks and stuff like that.
Also we have a Meetup on the 18th of October and you may want to come meet many of us from this board in person.
I know having the support of this board and the group at UNC I could not have gotten where I am today.
