Well, I am home from the hospital now and wow i got home sooner than i thought i would. I am still very very sore.  Did anyone get alot of pain in their back as well as the front.   My doc said my back could be hurting due to the operation table i was on.. I am still kind of nervous about being home because i am so afraid of busting open my incisions. Any advice for me there?   I am just realy nervous that i am going to do something wrong...Anyway some words of encouragement would be nice to hear right now..I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone here on Obesity Help you have all been wonderful and i look forward to moving on with my progress with you guys. Hopefully i will get more pictures up of myself.(still a little shy)

Welcome home!  So sorry to hear you are so sore.  I've heard many people complain of severe back pain (I am pre-op).  Some have said sleeping in a recliner helps a lot at first.  The biggest advice is sip, sip, walk, walk, repeat!  Look forward to seeing your photos and sharing in your journey.  Best wishes to you!

The soreness will ease with time. Sometimes, if you pain in your back, near your shoulders, it might be gas. I know that it sounds strange, but when the pump you so full of gas so that they see what they are doing, it has to go somewhere and sometimes it caused a kind of 'referred' pain.

Don't worry about busting open your incisions. Follow your Dr's instructions about not lifting anything heavier than x ...whatever weight guideline they gave you. Other than that, you should be fine, just don't go painting a room, buidling a rock wall, cleaning out the garage for a few weeks.

Right now, you need sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, rest, rest, rest, and get in as much of your protien and supplements as you can to try to meet your Dr's guidelines.

Welcome the loser's bench!

Well girl I'll give you some advice since I'm 6 days out from RYN surgery. Right after surgery I was in so much pain with my shoulders and the middle of my back  and it was from being on the operating table for 3 hours spread out like an angel. Warm towels was all that help and by the second day the pain in my stomach made me forget about that pain lol. But I must say that with each day the pain in the stomach as gotten less and less and today I'm doing good but still can't bend over to pick anything up off the floor. I found out the the key is to just get up and move every so often. I was also told that the staples I have are very strong. I hope you feel better soon.
