What a great day at the Zoo we had!

This was my first visit to the NC zoo since I was a little girl and I don't really remember it at all (the childhood visit). We really have a great zoo here. Who knew? We also have a great group of people that were able to make it and I really enjoyed meeting the ladies I hadn't met yet and revisiting my other new friends I have met at some of the other meetups. I am really tired but its a good tired and both my daughter Margy and I had  the best time. I did leave earlier than many others as I did get a bit worn out. But you should have seen Annie go! She was worried that she would not be able to do all that walking and she did! Not only did she walk as far as I did but she continued on to the other half of the zoo I passed up with everyone else. You go Annie! Andrea was there with her two little darlings and she was met by another OHer at the zoo with her little ones. Iris was there with her son. Annie had another friend along who actually was part of the design crew that helped build the zoo. I think her name is Pam? She was there with her husband and several other friends I have read so many supportive posts from over the last several months were there. Unfortunately I am terrible with names but I still had a good time speaking with everyone today. I hope we do another activity like this sometime. Maybe a beach party?

Hey Ann:

I really enjoyed meeting you and the other members of our wonderful family.   Don't feel bad about names, as i am usually pretty bad too.   Margaret is the one who helped design the zoo.  I was there with my husband, Stan.  I am going to post a seperate post asking for pics from today since i didn't have my camera.   You did awesome for being this close out of surgery!!

Take care, Pam

What a wonderful day it was.
It was wonderful to meet some more of my OH family today.
I have learned some new things about how special our NC group is.
I am happy to say I walked 4.5 miles today.
I belive I could not have done this without being as dedicated to working out as I am .
It showed me that I have a very good tolerance level and my endurance is at a point it has never been before.
I did get tired towards the end but I belive I could not have made it as far today with the love and affection from my OH family.
I love and admire each and everyone of you in my own way.
I love meeting Pam and Stan and sweet iris and  her son, such a good boy.
Ann you are toatlly amazing.
I have also learned the human spirit has no limits.
I love you all so much.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Annie:

You are truly amazing and an inspiration to all you meet!   I am so glad that i have had you during my journey and even better, getting to meet you in person today.   I was sad we had to leave early but Stan is out of shape.  Need to get him walking 2 miles with me daily instead of letting him only go once in a while and only for a mile.  He really needs to build up his leg and back muscles more.  Lee is a sweetheat also.

Love ya,

Pam

4.5 miles! I knew you could. I am sure there will be some soreness but just knowing you can will help you to do it again. I did about half but in a few weeks or so I know I can do more too. We really had a great day.

I had so much fun today. It was such a beautiful day.....perfect weather for walking around. You girls are a great group to be around. Just wished we all lived closer to one another. We definitely need to get together again for another get together. A beach get together sounds fun!

Lisa,
You look so good today and I really enjoyed spending some of the time with you. The best part of these meetups is we get to see people in all stages of the process and learn how to see ourselves in a thinner light. Seeing you makes me believe that my healthy weight is just around the corner.

Hey Folks - I made it home. Wayne and I made a few more stops than normal coming home but we had a nice trip and made pretty good time. It was great to meet all of yall. The zoo was a great destination and I look forward to going back and spending time there with yall many more times. Anyone planning on staying in Asheboro, I highly recommend the Hampton Inn (they even have an indoor pool).
