Diarrhea?

When does this diarrhea problem get under control? Twice this week I've had to get my bed sheets changed because sometime during the night I make a mess and don't even know it. Its like I have no control. I do think when I drink chocolate protein it makes it worse so maybe I'll try a different kind of protein and see if it helps. Today I feel a little better but only been up a couple hours so guess I'll see how I feel later on.

Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy,  I don't have the answers to most of your questions nor experiences to compare them to since I am still pre-op.  I just want you to know that I am reading all of your posts and my heart goes out to you about your struggles!  I have a feeling that in about 1-3 months, all of this will be a very distant memory and you will be saying like most I hear do..."I wish I'd done this sooner!"

I don't know if you were like me and the day/week (even a month or more?!) after giving childbirth, you couldn't imagine EVER doing THAT again.  But then as the story goes, time heals all and it wasn't long before you longed to do it all over again.  Weird analogy?  Perhaps, but it was all I could think of and I hope it brings a bit of a smile to you!

Yes Shauna it did bring a smile to my face . I can tell you the pain I've been in this week felt like labor pains and I looked 9 months pregnant. I'm posting a couple pictures I had took  today at 5 days out so check out my profile when you get time. Hey maybe I'm going thru all of this so I can help you when your time comes.

I suffered from those sudden surprises as well and oh how horrible that makes one feel for sure! It stopped when I was told to begin eating solid food. In my case that was one week out from my surgery date on the day you had yours. That all liquid diet is the culprit I think but its only an uneducated opinion. I suspect you will find some relief when you can eat some food even if it is pureed. I hope this gives you some hope.

Hey Cindy:

That is one issue I didn't have but have heard of others having it.   I know my doc allows imodium if it is needed so you may want to check with your doc also.

Take care, Pam
