Road Trip

Less than an hour and a half  til my work week is over and I'm lookin forward to a road trip. I haven't been to Asheboro since 1987 (may have been 88). My 16 year old son is coming with me and he loves him a road trip and he's a huge Moma's boy. So yes it's possible to have quality time with a teenager.

I've packed my camera, fresh batteries and an extra memory card. I'm not sure if I did this for the animals or my fellow OHers. Huh??? I've also packed my extra pedometer cause I plan on doing some major walking tomorrow. 

I doubt that I'll get back on the internet tonight - if for any reason things change unexpectedly or someone needs something, I've PMed Annie with my cell phone numbers. I'm so excited. Can't wait to meet everyone. Oh by the way - I look nothing like my avitar anymore.  I've cut my hair short and it's more reddish than anything. (Think honey , copper & mustard highlights). I took a picture this morning with my cell phone but can't seem to get it out of a compressed file. DUH!!!! Maybe I should just go platimun blond and stop fighting it any longer.  *****Edited to add: Look in my profile I finally just added the two pictures to it

Iris,  I LOVE road trips too.  Our kids grew up on them.  That's one of the things we've missed doing since the gas prices rocketed! 

I hope ya'll have a GREAT time tomorrow.  This is something we would not usually miss for the world because it's so up our alley (road trip, zoo, meeting others, etc.).  But, we aren't missing it for the world...just our teenage daughter!  ha!  Hopefully next time for us.  I keep warning hubby I'm going to get an NC cruise for us all lined up sailing out of Charleston one of these days!!! 

Just took a peek at your photos and I LOVE the hair, Iris!  Are you for real about the platinum blonde?!  You are BRAVE!!! 

I think it's awesome that you went shorter.  I've already been saving photos of short haircuts I'd like to try and told my hairdresser last time I was in there that I'd like to go a bit shorter after I've lost the first 60 pounds.  I was glad to see that she was excited about the prospect!  haha  I had waist-length hair that I was still coloring and she had a fit when I decided to go shoulder-length and au natural salt 'n pepper over the past year.  THAT was brave.  I swear I about had a coronary at first, but now I LOVE it and I get tons of compliments...even from my hairdresser!

Hey all - we just got checked in and settled into our hotel rom for the night and I have to share a major roadtrip WOW. - I FIT IN THE BATHTUB nothing was touching on the sides at all. There was room between the sides and me - room I tell you. I have a garden tub at home so I would have never known this little factoid had it not been for the zoo trip.
