About the zoo trip tomorrow

Make sure you use Google to map out the directions instead of Yahoo Maps. Google has the most accurate directions to the GC and to the Zoo from there. I was able to get the Zoo directions by just typing in North Carolina Zoo. Yahoo got lost and sent me to the middle of NC LOL! Good thing I read them before trying to use them. See ya'll there!

I love Google - for any and everything. I had just printed directions from the zoo's website and put in my purse. Plus printed a couple of motel coupons incase I decide to drive up tonight. (I'm leaning towards it)..

I'm excited. My 16 year old is coming with me and we've been teasing him that I was going to leave him at the zoo - sorta trade him in on a newer little monkey. Is anybody bringing a teenager along - preferably a single daughter or two.

My 22 year old daughter is coming. She will be nice to him for sure though of course she is too old for him of course. But she is good with younger people. She is an artist and plans on trying to sketch some of the animals while there. We are less than an hour away so no need for us to go to spend the night there. I am looking forward to see how my new little 'Bean' handles the day!

NC Statewide Meetup - Final details (Repost)

We will meet up on Saturday, October 4th in Asheboro at the Golden Corral (1070 East Dixie, 27203) at 10:00am for a quick get together and breakfast.  Yes, if you come, you should eat something if at all possible since we are using their room.  If you identify yourself as part of the NC WLS group, you will get $1 discount, and they will attach the gratuity to the check (now I don't feel so guilty when I forget cash in Raleigh).

We'll meet, eat, talk, and such, then caravan over to the zoo together.  For us to get the group rates, everyone has to enter the zoo at the same time.  Also, I need one week notice to call and get the tickets, so the cutoff for the discounted tickets is 9/27 (an extension due to my laziness).

The African exhibit is the one that gets quiet first, and it's active until about 2pm.. that should give us plenty of time to get around to that part of the zoo.  The zoo closes at 5pm.

Time: 10:00 at Golden Corral, then caravan to zoo around 11:45

Children 2-12: $6
Seniors 62+: $8

Prepayment deadline: 9/27
