Real food

If you can have beans, they are a great source of fiber.  At the early stages like you're at, I often went to Taco Bell and got the pinto beans with cheese.  Very easy on the pouch, great protein and fiber!

Congrats on getting this far in your journey!  Alice

I love pintos and cheese but not TB so much. But Nut says no. She calls them carbs as I answered above. That rules out eating at Moes too. I love Moes.

Hi Ann,
Welcome to the real world of food again.
As iris said yes it is trial and error and very true about what works today might not work tomorrow.
On the ugly topic of constipation I am finding it is something I am dealing with on a daily bases.
My doctor wants me off the pericolace asap.
She wants me to take Miralax daily so yesterday I started that.
I am going to be looking into that natural herb called sacred bark it has another name just cant spell it.
Remember soup is your friend.

Soups are okay but they have to be creamy with no veggies (my favorite part of course) but maybe I can try some clam chowder. Or does that have potatos in it.

I agree with Annie - Soups have been and still are my go-to foods along with refried beans with a little low-fat shredded cheese.  Hopefully, beans are ok with your plan, because they help with the fiber.  Although, like my doctor told me, things aren't going to work like they used to.  You'll develop a new normal.

Take care,
Rhonda

No beans for me unfortunately. The cheese is okay though.

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

I was really surprised when she told me that beans are carbs. And I do admit they have carbs in them but they are also a great source of protein and I used them in a lot of stuff when managing my diabetes because they are dense and filling too. I have plenty of options right now within her guidelines right now and I will follow them as long as I stay healthy. I am getting vitamins from somewhere else other than her suggestions though. I have chosen some online created especially for bariatrics. They are on the way and I will certainly let everyone know how they go down so to speak.
