stupid questions
Hi Jenn,
1. My NUT said not to eat and drink as you want your food to stay in your pouch as long as possible to keep hunger at bay and feel full longer as we no longer have our pyloric valve to keep food in our pouch. For my program I only have to wait 15 after I have eaten to drink, and that is to make sure your pouch is completely empty before starting to eat. The same as waiting after eating, you don't want to push the food right out of your pouch or you will be hungry sooner.
2. My NUT says no straws as to not allow air to get into our pouches as that can be uncomfortable.
I know everyone's program is different so some may be allowed straws and some not.
Good Luck and I hope this answered your questions some.

There are absolutely no stupid questions. I was told no water 30 min before and after I eat. Think it also has to do with malabsorbtion from stuff i read on line. If you drink right after you eat, you do not have as much time to absorb some of the nutrients plus you will flu**** out and be hungry.
My doc's office never said anything about a straw and i have not had any problems with them. I hate drinking water out of a glass in a restaurant. Just one of my weirdnesses. lol
