Study at Duke on Splenda
Interesting reading for us using artifical sweetners. Splenda was my favorite too. :(

This phrase from this "study" makes me wonder .... "It's the latest in a continuing round of studies, claims and counter-claims pitting artificial sweeteners against the powerful Sugar Association, the lobbying group for the sugar industry, which financed the Duke study."
You have to look at who is funding the study ... people who are definitely against Splenda, and all other artificial sweeteners, actually. Can't blame them for trying to protect their own product, sugar. Whenever they have a vested interest in the outcome of the study, it really makes me think the results can't be trusted.
Splenda is still my favorite.

I read this article yesterday at the same thing jumped out at me about the sugar companies funding the study. I sure wish Duke would have done the study on their own dime, then I'd have a little more confidence in the results.
That said, I do believe anything natural is better for you than the artificial version. I eat butter - never margarine, things like that. But...since my new body doesn't process sugar well, I need an alternative, and I still think Splenda (sucralose) is the lesser evil between sucralose & aspertame. Aspertame gives me headaches - sucralose doesn't.
