Hi,
I had surgery Monday, and am 6 days out.  I am surprised to find that I still need the pain med every 4 hours, and find getting up and down difficult due to pain.  Any ideas or suggestions,  how long did you have pain?  Mine seems to be worse in the area that the drain was.

I have been doing fine without the pain meds until today. Now I am taking some just before going to bed. I hurt mostlyunder the left ribcage especially when I sneeze and hiccup.

Hey Fran:

We are all so much different when it comes to the pain.  I didn't take any pain meds or even tylenol once I got home from the hospital.   There are some who have taken pain meds for a few weeks.   If you are not feeling improvement by tomorrow, I would give your doc's office a call and make sure everything is ok.

Take care,

Pam

I hurt on my left side for 6 weeks. The pain got less and less as the weeks rolled on. Yes it is hard to get up and down only 6 days after your surgery, give yourself a break!!! best of luck to you on your recovery

I had a twing in my right side but the more I walk and got around the better I felt. But mine was done open and I don't think I had the gas problem some of the lap people had.  Hope it gets better soon.
