Pre Opt Appt

I had my pre opt appt with the doctor today and I have to admit this week I've been getting nervous but today I felt like he's going to take care of me the best he can and I've heard nothing but good things about him. He told me that alot of people say they are scared of dying but any surgery you had you took that risk and as for me I really didn't have a choice with all my health problems but to have the surgery, because if I didn't I was doubling my chances of a early death. But if I got the weight off I could gain 12 yrs. I go for my pre admission stuff on Thursday morning. I was also retaining alot of fluid today so I have to go back Friday and get re-weighted and the surgery is for 11am on the 29th.

What did everyong have for their clear liquids? I have to start that on Sunday and I'm thinking its going to be hard and how am I going to be full on it.

Thanks,
Cindy

So glad you feel comfortable with your doctor, Cindy - it is probably the one most important thing...

I could do any liquids - V8 heated up was so good - sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello - chicken, beef, or vegetable broth - low carb slim fast - crystal light.  And the first couple of days was the hardest - but I did it because I knew this is what I wanted.  And you will see the weight start dropping... great motivator!

Congratulations!

Thanks Shelia for the info. I was told it had to be something I could see thru and I have a list was just wondering if anybody else had something different.

Sugar free pops are the best !! they help keep you hydrated. i didnt like the broth so i opted with granulated chicken boullion in ho****er. soo much more flavor
hope this helps

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!
