The Ball is rolling!
This is an emotional journey, isn't it?
OK, anywhoo, I met with my Doc today, and told her that I was going for the surgery again. She was SOOOO supportive and said if anyone was ready, that I was!
*but* bad news, It is confirmed that I have Type 2 diabetes. YIKES.... If NOTHING else, this is a sign that I am definitely making the right choice. I can't keep collecting diagnosis's with each visit I take to the doc...
So she is going to write me an enthusiastic letter and even gave me her opinion on a great surgeon!
Here I go!!!
Kim,
I'm glad you're back in the right frame of mind again... Any surgery is scary but if there is any doubt just let us know, we'll do what we can to get you back! I'm glad things went well with your Doc. As for the type 2 diabetes, at least you know you have it and for now you'll need to stay on top of it - after WLS you'll probably never have to deal with it again. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 9 months prior to WLS but the week after my surgery my levels were wonderful. Not to mention the high blood pressure, high cholestrol, acid reflux, heart problems and my knee and back aches!!!
I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted please!!! I'm excited for you!

I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I'm sure that it will resolve with your surgery.
I have to tell you that you are so very right, this is an incredibly emotional journey, but it is sooooo worth it.
Hang in there.
All the best,

I'm so glad you have such a supportive PCP. I love mine too and it is such a comfort knowing I have her support regarding RNY. Hate to hear you have Type 2 diabetes, but it is definitely the proof you needed to know you ARE on the right track!

Here you go!!!!!!

I am dissapointed about the Diabetes, but not scared- cause I know it's going away!
This is a flippin rollercoaster... Now I am just focusing on my work-up appointments.I am an Old pro at them (have done 'em twice before! LOL, shame they still don't count!)
