I am home from Memphis and disappointed - long!

I'm one of the newbies to the board and I already feel at home here. I'm sorry your family couldn't give you the support you so well deserve but its their loss for not taking an interest in you and just remember that "friends are the family we choose for ourselves" and we are all here for you. I have a friend who lives in Florida that's coming to stay with me for two weeks to help out when I get  my surgery on the 29th and I can't count on none of my family expect for my two sons, so I know how it feels.

Congrats on your weight loss so far, your doing a great job!

Glad to meet you!  Congratulations on your surgery date.  How old are your sons?  I am so glad you have a friend coming from Florida.  I think you will be surprised to find out that you will be just fine after a few days. 

I couldn't wait to get home to my OH family.  And the support that I needed was here.... Thank you for being one of those supporters.

My sons are 23 and 25 and they will both be here the day of surgery but they both have jobs they can't get much time off from. My youngest one lives in Statesville and the other one lives about 20 minutes away in Wilmington.

I hope your right on the being just fine, I'm a big cry baby when it comes to being in pain lol. Do you have any suggestions on protein drinks or vitamins to take?

I'm sorry to hear that things didn't go as well as you had hoped they would.  But just remember in the end, you will be the winner!!  You are right when you say that you are doing this for yourself.  And you should be soooooo proud of yourself for not falling prey to all the temptations that were put before you this weekend.  I think that's awesome!  I know I wouldn't have done as well as you did. 

Now that you are back home, put this weekend behind you and focus on your plan.  The next time you see your family, I'll bet good money they see a "huge" difference in the way you look!!

Yes there were temptations!  But I want to lose this weight and be *normal* again... Actually I can't remember when I was *normal*  LOL  but I think it is a possibility now with the band...

Aren't families a pain in the patootie?  I can remember driving 1,000 -- yes, one thousand miles-- to see my mother, and within 15 minutes she asked me if I had gained weight, and told me she didn't like my hair. 

You enjoy your success and don't let anybody steal your joy away from you.

No need to apologize! Its great to have you back! I am sorry that you had to go through that. My family also does not get that I cannot have sugar.... my mother sent me $50 gourmet dipped strawberries for Christmas... well my hubby is a diabetic so they went into the garbage. I told her a million times we cannot have sugar but she does not listen. Im sorry no one noticed your weight results, I think you look fantastic!!! keep up the good work and dont let anyone ever drag your success down

Thank you Darcie - I knew my OH family would understand what I went thru over the past 5 days....  I was up one pound this morning so that in itself is a miracle... LOL
