Today was my one year check up with Dr. Mann. He said I looked different and great and that Ive done fantastic. Blood pressure was 106~~~ down from 140~~ so huge improvement there!! Dr. Mann is the sweetest Doctor and always has a smile on his face. In July before my hubby left my stomach started burning. I first ignored it. It has come and gone and still around. I told Dr. Mann about it and he pressed on my stomach and yep.... he thinks its one of two things... 1. Ulcer and thats what Im hoping for... 2. GALL STONES yep I still have they old Gall bladder and I go back to G'Vegas this Friday for a complete ultrasound and in a few weeks Dr. Mann is doing a Endoscopy on me himself instead of the first Doctor that did my pre op one. He said nothing wrong with that Doctor but since Im set up different now he likes to do it since he knows what hes looking for. I really really really do not want to have another operation..... really hoping its nothing... Im kind of down and out right now... thanks for letting me share my news. Oh I brought my cam for my one year visit and snapped me and the Doc on my profile

If you know Dr. Mann (Donna Im sure you could just hear him LMAO) it was funny when he said *you brought a camara?* LOL hes got a German accent and sounds like The Terminator

hugs to all

Sorry to hear about your belly pain.  But if it is gallstones at least you can get rid of that pain pretty quickly and from what I've read and heard it's usually an out patient surgery and the recovery time is pretty quick.  I had mine out at the same time I had my RNY so I don't have to worry about that anymore.  I had an ulcer way back when I was in high school and let me tell you, I would not want to experience that kind of pain ever again.  Heck, I think my 34 hours of labor was easier than going thru that ulcer pain!!!

Glad to hear that the rest of your check up was good.  You look great and have done an awesome job with your tool!  Take care and keep us posted.

Darc,

I'm sorry you're still having problems with your tummy...  I hope it's an ulcer also and you don't have to have gall bladder surgery, but if you do then I'm glad Southern Surgical will do it.  Dr. MacDonald did mine last December and it was no biggy at all.  I just love them up there.  Anyway, I will keep you in my prayers girl!  Keep us posted.

p.s....  You look wonderful!!!!

I had my gall bladder took out about 4 years before I even thought about gbs. I didn't have to stay over night or anything. Seems like I was there only 5 hours from start to finish. They just made sure I could hold down something to drink then I was on my way. I just had 2 little holes one beside my belly button and one a little  upper it. I had no problems at all. Just sleepy from getting put to sleep. My gastric bypass doctor ask me before he done my gbs if I still had mine because he takes it out when he does the gastric. I told him it was gone. Good luck.

Darcie,

I'm delighted to hear that you are doing so well and you look just FABULOUS my dear, but I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing 'tummy troubles' and I hope that it's relatively easily addressed. Please let us know what the Doc says after your appointment Friday.

Congratulations on all that you've accomplished during the past year.

Barb

Darcie,  You look so great!  Love the photo of you and your doc...he's a cutie-pa-tootie!  Congrats on the blood pressure but oh man...the tummy woes are the pits.  Will come home from my psych consult Friday hoping to log on and hear how your endoscopy turned out.  Hope it all ends up the way you are hoping it to!  {{{Hugs!!!}}}  When do you get that new car delivered?!

Well, I guess an ulcer would be the lesser of 2 evils.  But either way, there is gonna be a LOT of pain and stress on you while they find out.  We all know how good your veins are, and an IV will be required!  Keep us posted.
