Some WOW moments to share

Hey everybody!!    Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Mine has been great so far.  On Friday I went into my supervisor's office to ask her a question and heard her and another co-worker discussing some guy they know that had gastric bypass surgery.  I listened for a few minutes and decided to "confess" to them that I had had it also.  My boss was blown away when I told her that I've lost over 135 lbs and she said that she would never have guessed that I had had surgery.  She said, and I quote, "you look so normal ~ like you never had a weight problem."  I just smiled really big, thanked her and walked back to my office.  But I don't think my feet even touched the ground on the way back to my office.

Then on Friday night I went shopping cause I needed a tan pair of slacks for an upcoming event.  I didn't feel like trying them on because I was tired and ready to get home so I just grabbed my usual size 14.  Well, I tried them on yesterday and while they do fit o.k., I definitely could have easily worn a size 12!!  Woo hoo!!!!

And to top everything off, the scales have finally started moving again!!  I am only 9 lbs away from goal!!!  How freaking awesome is that????  I think I would really like to lose about 14 more lbs total just to have a buffer of a couple of lbs once I reach goal.  I am determined to do it and I have set my mind to reaching this "new" goal by Christmas!

Hi Donna,

I'm so glad that you were able to thoroughly enjoy that lovely wow moment. It's amazing to see the looks on people's face that have never known us FAT when we let them know that we once were not just fat, but morbidly obese; it's really hard for them to comprehend. I actually keep a before photo of myself in my wallet and most people have a hard time believing it's me. Your metamorphosis has been absolutely amazing and I expect it to continue as you lose the next 15 lbs or so. It's amazing how much more change you will see in the last 15 lbs than you might have seen in the previous 30. I guess it's because as we get close to goal one of the final things to really slim down is our face ... I thought mine had slimmed before, but the last 10 to 15 lbs showed an incredible difference.

Enjoy yourself!

Barb
