T3  2.8 Normal now after a month of t3 replacement therapy

Cal  8.9  Up .3 from the last time  This is good.

Iron 96  Up from 72 last time!

Ferritin  50 Up from 39 last time!

Glucose and Sodium were a tad low, but who can complain about that?

Triglicerides were awesome at 77

Cholesterol was even better at 176, down 4 from last time!

OK so... supplementation works.  Watch those numbers next time now that I know how to take the supplements properly and will have better dosages under my belt for a longer time!

I confess that I was hoping I would still see low numbers on the T3 as I haven't lost any weight and my hair was falling out like crazy until just a few days ago.  Maybe it is just gonna take a while longer...  At least the numbers are good!

Hi Suzanne,

Your labs look great! Keep up the good work. I'm delighted to see that your labs look so good and that you are being so tenacious about getting in your supplements.

Keep doing the things you are doing and I'll bet that you'll begin to see some downward movement on the scales.

Congratulations!

Barb

BTW, Please give Mare and Nancy a hug for me when you see them tomorrow... and have them give you one from me too!

Just a note.. blood serum calcium really doesn't mean anything unless you are close to death or have had cardiac issues.

The body will keep this number pretty much a constant amount because calcium is absolutely vital for muscle contractions (including the heart).  The body will do whatever it takes to keep the brain and the heart going.. at *any* cost.

To know if you are getting enough calcium and are not melting away, a PTH and D draw are required, as well as DEXA scans.

Just thought I'd share...

But yes, supplementation is very important.

Yup!  And we did the PTH and Ds a month ago.  Numbers were good then, but that is definitely a valuable contribution to this board and I thank you for sharing it!  Also had the dexa scan a bit over a month ago and will of course keep following up on that.  I am actually hoping to see improvement there next time as I started with Actonel for osteopenia and am now militant with the calcium and D3 regimen!  VitaMom is teaching me well!  LOL

Suz,

I'm glad your labs were better...  We really have to watch those supplements!!!  Keep up the great work and don't worry about your hair, it will grow back!  I have to go to my doc in October for my 6 year follow up...  I still get nervous every time I have to go... I know they're going to draw blood and I just HATE that part!!!  Maybe you'll go for me???  PLEASEEEEEEeeeee!  Anyway, have a great weekend!
