I am so proud of me!!
I haven't walked in over a week due to heat, rain and being out of town. Very little exercise which is BAD! I signed up for the walk from obesity at Concord Mills today and two of my friends and one's son joined me. We walked 3 miles in about 50 minutes....hoorayyyyyyy! I was so afraid of being out of shape after not walking for a week. This is the first i have sat down since i got up at 6:20. We went out to breakfast at Bob Evans where they have turkey sausage and i got 2 links of that along with a small dish of fruit. Came home and we have a big old Kwanzan cherry tree in the front yard that died and i decided to tackle that and take it down with a hand saw and loppers. I spent about 3 hours out there and hubby felt guilty so came and joined me in the party. I am now totally exhausted and feel absolutely wonderful. Figured i am going to sit and rest for a few hours, then shower and go clearance shopping. Maybe all this exercise will jump start my wt loss. Been only losing about a lb a week (i know because of no exercise). My friend and I are also going to meet at Concord Mills about 10 am tomorrow before it opens and walk another 3 miles. Never thought i would be this excited or feel this great because of exercise.
Love you all!!!
Pam
Hi Pam,
It sousnds like you've been doing a great job! Isn't it just wonderful to be able to MOVE all day and live through it?!
You might not want to hear this, but the signficant slow down in weight loss you've been experiencing lately is pretty normal. I think I only lost a lb a week during my first couple of months. You can expect a signficant slowdown in the rate at which you lose during the second 6 months of your journey. Take heart though, I know that Lisa and I were sure that we weren't doing so well and look where we are now. Just keep plugging along. You will lose. Incorporate the exercise, movement, etc. into your life because it's going to help you live a better life. It's not likely to make a huge difference on the amount that you will lose, but it will make a huge difference in your ability to keep the weight that you are losing OFF and that's a big incentive to get out there and get moving ... whether it's 'exercise' or just getting stuff done.
Keep up the good work and enjoying your new life.
All the best,
Barb

I think the energy levels i have now are the most surprising of all. I was losing a lb a week for the last 2 without any exercise. Figured if i get more exercise to burn more calories, maybe it will speed up a little. I am just very happy of the place i am right now and it gives me more incentive to continue.
Take care and thanks, Pam
Hey Pam,
Don't get me wrong ... EXERCISE!!! I just wanted you to know that it's sooooo normal to slow down. I used to use a site called www.thinnerself.com and I'd plug in my info and see where I was on the curve. Often, when I was concerned that I wasn't doing so well, I'd find that I was diong much better than I was giving myself credit for ... Have a look. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Hugs,
Barb
