What keeps you motivated???
Yes, I want to be healthy... yes, I want to live longer, yes I want to stop hurting....
But just as importantly, I want....
1- To sit in a plastic yard chair with no worries
2- To wrap a bath towel completely around me
3- To not drastically change the water level in my hot tub
4- have a clear view of the floor
5- Order a meal without feeling judged
6- Be on top

7- stop knocking things over with my badonk-a-donk
8- never buying a "long" shirt again
9- Wear an average size ankle bracelet
10- and of course, never use weight as an excuse for anything!
What little things keep you motivated????
Great thread!!!
I want to continue to ...
- Be free of type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, and hemochromatosis.
- I want to continue to wear single digit pants, sexy shoes, fitted dresses, slim fitting slacks, knit tops and look great in them.
- I love to fold my legs up under me and pull my knees to my chest ... and keep breathing comfortably!
- I love being able to walk and walk and walk and walk without getting tired.
- I love being able to sprint through the airport and then easily fit into the seat ... w/out a seatbelt extender. It's great to be able to walk down the aisle of the plane w/out my rear hitting the seats and/or people as I move down the aisle, much less having to extracate myself from the seat to get down the aisle. Air travel is a completely new, much more pleasant experience.
- I love being able to handle the heat in a way that I can't ever recall. I probably won't ever love the hot weather, but now I can handle it without feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack when the temperature and/or humidity rise above 90.
- I love that I can eat just about anything and everything ... in moderation.
- I love that I can cook without resetting the temperature on the oven with my overhanging tummy.
- I love the way I look in clothes ... most of the time. Out of clothes ... not so much.
- I love that my shoe size dropped from a 9.5 wide to an 8 to 8.5 med.
- I love that I now wear a 6.5 ring.
- I love the fact that my face shape is no longer ROUND, but now oval.
There are soooo many more things, but alas, my daughter wants me to surrender the computer, so that's it for now.

I haven't had surgery yet...I hate going to the movies bc I can't get comfy in the chairs..I have to sit my drink on my boobs to drink it

im ready for change....
I didn't really think about that either. As a matter of a fact, one of things I'll be doing soon is purging all of my favorite shoes that are just too big for me. :-/ Oh well, I'd rather enjoy all of the benefits I mentioned above than be able to wear some of my favorite things again. I may have a few favorite things tailored or remade, but the shoes ... well, I think that's just a lost cause.

1. the looks I get from co-workers and others (admiring looks)
2. being able to exercise without feeling like I am going to have a heart attack.
3. clothes fitting like they are supposed to and not squeezing me to death
4. being able to cross my legs
I look forward to being on top--he he

wearing more attractive clothing
riding a bike
running a mile
with God all things are possible.
I no longer have to take meds for high blood pressure or GERD.
My cholesterol is normal for the first time in over 20 years.
I no longer have to worry if a booth is to narrow for my belly.
I can cross my legs
I have more energy than I have had in 20 years (not bad for being 53 yrs old)
I was out of town and stopped at Wake Forest to take my son to dinner. He told me i looked younger and so much like my mom when she was younger (which is a huge compliment)
I now park my car in the back of parking lots to get a longer walk.
I now fit in the airplane seatbelt with no extender.
I am almost in regular Misses clothes. I have a bad habit of going to plus size clothes which are getting to be to big for me. It is the self image crap we still have to deal with.
I love when people tell me i have a wonderful hourglass figure and when i tell them i have 76 lbs to go and then skin revision, they think i am going to be a twig (i don't ever have to worry about that).
I love the continuous positive feedback and support from my awesome family, friends and coworkers and my OH family here.
I love that my knees hardly ever hurt anymore and i can walk up stairs like a grownup instead of a toddler.
I love getting dressed up just to get dressed up.
I can go on and on but I think you get the jist of it. My life is so much better than it was 102 lbs ago!! It is work but the best job i have ever done in my life with this wonderful tool i have. I wish you much success in however you decide to take off your weight and get back control of your life!! If you are looking for motivation you have come to the right place with our wonderful OH family here. And if you fall, we are all here to pick you up and help you back on the right road. I remember... ** The first time I could see the floor of my car when I was sitting in the drivers seat. ** Being able to tie my shoes without grunting. ** Crossing my legs. ** Oh, flying without having to ask for a seat belt extention or 2. ** Sitting in a plastic chair! ** Sitting in a booth at a resturant. ** Riding my first Roller Coaster and fitting. ** Walking in my first 5k. ** Shopping at Victoria's Secret.... Oh soooo many more memories!!!
Thanks for the lift!! Keep those positive thoughts!!!
