In Need of a good plastic surgeon

Hi Everyone,

I am so new to the NC board and haven't posted very much but I am a gastric bypass patient-over 2 years out now. I had my surgery in Virginia July 3, 2006. Since then I have lost 150 lbs and I'm ready for some plastic surgery to get my body back the way it should be. If anyone has had or knows anyone who has had a good experience with a plastic surgeon, I would appreciate any imput you could give me. It's scary to just pick someone out of the phone book but being new in NC I don't have any other alternative except to ask for your help here.

I reccomend DrEaves at Charlotte Plastic surgery - a girl on this board had a panni with him and was thrilled (hopefully shell pop up, she isnt on much) my best friend has had the entire package with him (cept boobs, she is having them done soon) and looks amazing... another friend of mine (non-WLS) had her boobs done and looks amazing. He is one of the top surgeons in NC.

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

Does he accept insurance? I'm about to switch to Medcost the 1st of the year and don't know of any that accept insurance right now, but I'd love to find out! I don't even know if Medcost covers it. I know that Cigna doesn't, but I've heard rumors that Medcost does. Guess I'll find out soon. I need "the works" ... after losing 160+ lb, I need a lower body lift, boob lift/implants! I could stand a brachioplasty, but I can live without that if I have to make a choice because the arms aren't too bad really.

He does accept insurance, their website may list which, if not call the office.
Cigna does cover plastic surgery depends on the plan - same with all insurance plans, employers have to pay extra to have those kind of 'perks'. My cigna plan specifically does NOT cover WLS or anything relating to it including PS... but I know others that have Cigna that do.

The only one I know locally (to me) is Joseph Klein in Concord. He does not accept insurance, however. But he does great work.

Hi Dena,

I am trying to find someone closer than Concord. I live in Kings Mountain, NC and that would be a long way to travel after surgery...so I really want someone closer. Thank you for your imput and if you hear of anyone in the West Charlotte area or even Gastonia....please let me know.

Hi Dena,
I have not talked to you in a while. I have a hernia from a previous surgery and can have a TT at the same time. I have a surgeon here in Salisbury that can do it. I went to Dr. Klein, and liked him but can not afford it without ins. Do you have any thoughts on this. He wants to do an anchor cut since I have had 4 LARGE babies! I am a little nervous and just saw you on here and thought about you. You look great! I have done so well. Not been sick a day and have been at goal for a while now. Need to slow down but I am sure it will balance out.
