Hello to the UNC support group and the rest of the board!

Hey guys, just wanted to officially introduce myself to rest of the group. I am going in for Lap RNY on Oct 1 at UNC. I am very excited and scared to death!

Just wanted to say hello and thanks to the group that met this week at UNC. you guys are amazing and huge inspiration.

Being two years out I can tell you that you are about to embark on the journey of your life.  I understand the being scared because I was too but looking back now I wouldn't take anything for the opportunity to regain my youth, look and feel better than I have in years, and know that I'm healthy for the first time in a very long time.  I don't know what your faith in God is, but I will say a special prayer for you.  It was through my faith that I came through the surgery without any complication and had a speedy recovery.  I had open RNY and I was up and back to work in 3 weeks after surgery....Amazing, huh?    I am now looking to have plastic surgery to reconstruct my body. 

Keep the faith and know that you will be fine....I remember going to sleep and singing Jesus, Take the Wheel......I wasn't in control any longer but He was!!  I did fine and I have yet to regain the weight which was a major concern of mine.  I have lost 150 lbs and I've gone from a size 28 to a size 12.  I know that sounds large but I'm a big girl standing at 5'9" tall.    I'm happy with the new me!  I enjoy buying clothes again.
