things can still happen to you years out.

I probably have an ulcer.  I get scoped tomorrow to confirm this diagnosis.. it's that or a stricture.

In any case, keep aware that things *can* and *do* happen years out.  I've not even had any NSAIDs!  I take my vitamins!  I drink my water!

Blah.

(BTW -- Enoch would see me.. for a $400 program fee.. which I thought was pretty ****ty (actually, that's a much milder word than I had earlier today) but found a GI doc that has extensive work with RNY patients to do my scope)

Hi Andrea,

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well, but I'm glad that you've found a Dr. with experience with RNY patients that was able to help you. I look forward to hearing that you are on the mend soon.

WOW Andrea.  Sorry to hear that you are having problems.  I hope that whatever it is can be easily remedied.  I'll be thinking about you and sending good thoughts your way.

I was wondering about you the other day.. I hope you are doing well.

3 ulcers.  I'm not one to do anything half-assed!

Dayum, woman!  You sure as heck aren't one to do anything half-assed.  So what comes next?  Can RNYers take Nexium, and if so, how well does it work?  I'm thinking about you and hoping you'll be feeling much better very soon.  Still hope to see you on Saturday.

And good for you for finding a GI doc to take your case.

Carafate x4 per day (to coat).  I also put myself back on prilosec otc (ppi) to help with the acid.

You know me.. I'm an over-achiever.  I had considered not going, honestly.. convinced myself I was making something out of nothing.

Silly girl!  But I'm right there with you!  Please take care of yourself - especially for those 2 precious little ones!

I can only imagine the pain.  I've never had an ulcer, but if I go even 24 h without my Protonix (ppi), I am in agony!  I know I'll have to still take them after surgery, but I hope one day to give them up.  But then again, small price to pay if you ask me....

Glad you got it checked out.  And stay on top of it - heck I know people who would've gone for weeks and not got it checked out.  Heck, I used to be that person!

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!
