Oh Yeah , Kim...
Thanks for  the Livestrong tip.  I went over there and ended up spending a very enjoyable hour starting a program that I think is going to benefit me a great deal.   I really like this site and plan to visit it daily.

We are about the same height (though I claim 5'5" more often than not ) , but I weigh abt 20 lbs more than you...my highest weight ever.

I would love to continue to talk and share notes on our weightloss journey.  Heres hoping its a great success for both of us!

Hi, just wanted to wish you well with your surgery.   I too am going to DWL and my lap band is scheduled with Dr. Tourquati on Oct 6.    I had problems with Duke losing my records and then all of a sudden it went swiftly.   I have BCBS Federal too and I got my approval the same day it was submitted.

Do you know if there is a high co-insurance with surgery when you have Federal coverage?    I've met my deductible and I am just wondering about co-insurance.

Again, congrats on your surgery and good wishes to you.

Citygal,
I think a lot depends on your coverage,,,either Basic or Standard.  I know I have always had Basic that includes Duke physicians and DRH as preferred Drs and facility.

However ,  when I had a similar surgery (lap hysterectomy) 2 yrs ago , I had a copay for my hospital admission and I was also billed a copay by my primary surgeon.  I believe they were both abt 100 dollars apiece.

This is a good question as I do not like monetary surprises,,,unless I am a recipient.  I will find out,,,I am almost sure Durham Regional will have an admission fee.
