Bariatric programs in Raleigh area

I'm in need of seeing a surgeon.  Probably soon.

Most programs will not see me unless:
1) my records have been reviewed to make sure I don't come with alot of baggage;
2) an emergent basis.

I really don't have time to wait for the records, so I'm probably heading to an ER in the next couple of days.

What hospitals give priviledges to bariatric surgeons?  I don't want to pick a hospital if there is *no* chance a bariatric doc won't see me.  Preferrably a place that is known for their bariatric program.

And, um, give directions to a challenged person, please?

Hey Hun,

So, what's the problem?  Are you ok?  Your tone worries me here - going to the ER?  I know I only get to catch up on the NC board every few days, but did I miss something?  Let me know if I can do anything for you.  And hey, I am absolutely no help here since I'm going out of state.  Here's hoping you'll take a from the ignorant and well-meaning though.... emphasis on ignorant.

Ate something last night and ever since, it hurts to eat and drink.  No pukage, no random blood from eyes or butt, not severe enough to drop me to my knees, but going on 24 hrs.

I have a babysitter person that can watch the kids in Raleigh, as hubby went to Vegas this morning.

I hope you get better soon!  It sounds like the same problem I was having.  (btw I met you at the Golden Corral about two months ago-I had surgrery the next day for it)  It was scar tissue that was causing my problem.  It hurt to eat.  Call my surgeon-Dr. Enochs I know he will see you.  I know he sees patients that had their surgery done in other states.  For something like this you want to see a bariatric surgeon.  You dont want any old doc messing with your pouch.  Good Luck!

I will call him tomorrow.. thanks for the referral.  I'd much rather be seen in an office by a professional than in an ER by someone who only has passing knowledge of my rearranged guts.

Andrea,

Dr. Enochs practices at Rex Hospital and is well thought regarded. Rex is easily accessible from the "Lake Boone Trail" exit from I440. I hope that you feel better soon.
