DO YOU REGRET YOUR WLS??????
I can only share with you my feelings and experince.
I would do RNY again and again even with the complication I had which was a large blood clot which my vena cava filter caught and saved my life.
WLS is a major life style change and you have to be willing to accept the changes that you choose when you decided to have surgery.
I am living for the first time in my life and doing things I have never been able to do before.
I may never become skinny but I know I am so much more healthier than I have ever been.
Before surgery I was taking 4 shots of insulin a day and I was getting sicker by the day being super morbid obese.
The medical problems from obesity can be and are life altering problems.
Personally I got to a point in my life I was willing to do what ever it took to get my health back.
Once you start loosing your health you relize just how important it is.
I almost lost my sight from my diabetes and it took me over a year after wls to regain normal vision.
The loss of my sight was due to type 2 diabetes and after several proceedures my sight is better than ever.
My advice to you is ask yourself are you willing to accept the changes from wls in order to become healthy again.

Now - would I do it again. YES YES YES YES YES. Best thing I have ever done for myself. I had no problems before and I have no problems now.

Only regret was that I didn't do it sooner......
I think I have pretty much made up my mind to do it. I am just getting home from work and let me tell you...I am exhausted. Trust me, after the surgery, I will still be tired from standing on my feet all day, walking up and down the halls at school and just doing "teacher" things but I think being lighter will make a difference. I don't have any comorbidities like diabetes or high blood pressure but I can feet the effects of the weight on my joints and my back. I get all sweaty by just walking around the classroom and I am alway just down and out. I am excited...but....I just got a call from the PA at my surgeons office. I know I had blood drawn last week and I hope she's saying all is a go!!!!!! Thanks yall!!!!!
Next MONDAY is the day!!!!!
Good Luck

As with any procedure there can be complications/issues... its sad that MM has had such a rough time, but for each person that has a bad time there are many more that had no issues/complications. Its important to know the good and bad and make an informed decision that works for YOU based on that.
I have had no complications/issues since surgery. I did have to get my gall bladder out earlier this year and it may or may not have been surgery related but thats really minor. I have no food intolerances and can basically eat whatever I want. I have been able to maintain my goal weight since Feb of this year.
I really did not have medical issues pre-op and still dont have any post-op... my joint pain has improved, I no longer get rashed under my stomach/legs, my BP is lowered and my cholesterol is excellent - I feel better than I ever had in my entire life... for once I feel like a 'normal' person.
