I had surgery on Monday morning. Since I have been home and sleeping in my bed every time I turn over it feels likes water or something moving around. Is this normal anyone have this? Also how long does the blood in your stool last?

Candice,

First of all congratulations on making it to the loser's bench. Next, please do call your Dr's office anytime you have any concerns ... even if you think it's 'silly' or might be 'nothing' ... They are there to provide you support and will be more than happy to do so. I don't really recall a 'sloshing' feeling post op, but do recall that it took a while for things to get back to normal.

Wishing you every success,

Barb

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Candice,

Congrats on your surgery.  I don't remember either one of the symptoms that you're talking about.  Do you have a JP Drain?  I did, and I'm wondering if the fluids you're talking about are those that came out in my drain.  It may just take a little time for your body to actually absorb any leftover blood, fluids, etc.  Not sure though.  Also...I didn't have any blood in my stool along the way.

I agree that you should call your Dr.  #1, he can probably put you at ease and explain what's going on.  #2, in the off chance that something is wrong, they'll know exactly what to do about it.

Welcome to the losers bench!  I also think you need to call your doc.  I didn't have the sloshing or any blood in my stool.   Good luck!

Blood in your stool is a sure sign that you need to call your doc.  Really, if you haven't yet, do so now.

Thanks everyone I called the Doctor and he said everything was normal. The blood is like black so it's old blood working it's way out. The water filling is just fluids from my pump and that has already stopped. YAH!

Now if I just could stop burping all the time. I don't drink much at all and I still get the burps. He said I could take some meds to ease my stomach. Glad everything is working it's self out. It's hard when you have three little ones needing your attention.
