Oscar was a real grouch today

I named my pouch Oscar and boy was he grouchy today. Yesterday he liked Tuna for lunch. Today he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. I didn't eat any faster than I usually do and took very small bites but I had a run in with the FOAMIES and a great case of the heaves. Oh my gosh I wanted to die right there in the office bathroom.

Things are better tonight and I've been babying Oscar since lunch. He did like the cream of potato soup that I swirled up in the blender for him for dinner. I've still got so much to learn about this WLS. I still love it and think it's the best thing I've ever done for myself bar none. It's just humbling to know that an organ that's smaller than a poolball now controls every waking moment of my 267lb body.

Hope everyone has had a great day and had happier pouches.

Unfortunately, I had to delete this message due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

 Hi Iris,

Look at that 267# number quick, because it won't be there long!  Good luck with Oscar... although I haven't named my pouch, I have definitely come to love it!!  Maybe I should name it :)

I haven't named my pouch... hmmm... I wonder if I should after 6 years... lol!  I've been lucky, never had an issue with the Foamies either - maybe I shouldn't name it!  But I have noticed over the years that one day something will be wonderful and the next it just doesn't sit right or it feels like a ton of bricks in the pouch - yes it really feels like bricks!  Not fun at all!!!  Anyway, I hope you feel better and tomorrow Oscar wakes up on the right side of the bed!

Keep up that great work!!!

Hi Iris,

I know that this is frustrating. It seems like this back and forth sort of thing seems to go on for a while, but it WILL get better and it will get to a point where you will be able to reliably be able to tolerate things. It just seems to take a while. Keep trying!

Hang in there my friend.

All the best,

Barb
