slowly but surely-update
The psychologist I used called and I only owe $210 for my exam which is great. I am greatful that this is all I owe.
I am so excited because I think I have everything to turn in when I go for my education session at Hickory.
My dad is going with me. HE is a truck driver. Last resort I will be getting a friend of the family to go with me.
My dad thinks I am going to chicken out but I have done all of the research. I had been considering this for awhile but just recently really started pursuing the surgery when I had to be put on CPAP with 11 volume. This is very high for a woman. Scared me how many times I actually stopped breathing.

So glad to hear that things are coming along so well for you! I also don't remember when your education class is at Hickory. Give us a reminder, please?!
Sounds like you are going to have most everything conquered before your class which means you will get a date with the surgeon really quickly. I had every intention on that but it didn't work out that way. Boohoo! You'll be so glad!
Honestly, the education session just convinced me all the more that I am on the right path and that this is the perfect thing for me. I hope you leave with the same conviction and resolution because I just know it's going to change our lives for the better!
Are you considering heading down to Hickory on the 18th for the support group? Hubby and I will be there! I hope Shelia will be too!

I am most interested in the education session to see what kind of follow up they have after the surgery as far as meeting with the nutritionist and the fills. I am so hoping that I do as well as you do Sheila.

Hi Tamara,
It's nice to meet you. I am somewhat of an 'oldtimer' here. I had my surgery about 16 months ago. Like you, I had been thinking about the surgery for a while and started researching it heavily when I had a 'wake up call' when I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Some in my family thought that I was rushing into this decision, but like you, for me it had be a long time coming and was actually a rather thoughtful, well researched decision. You know that people that have WLS tend to review it and the possible complications and life impacts much more completely than people who are having many other surgeries.
I must say that for me personally, this is just about the best thing I have ever done for myself.
I wish you every success in your journey and look forward to getting to know you as you make it.
All the best,
Barb
